Numeracy in Drumhillery Primary School

Numeracy is one of the core areas taught and promoted at Drumhillery Primary School.

Numeracy means knowing about number and number operations. More than this it requires an ability to solve numerical problems relevant to everyday life including money and measures. It also requires pupils to be familiar with the ways in which numerical information is gathered by counting, measuring and how it can be presented in graphs, charts and tables.

At Drumhillery these key skills are taught through practical activities, the use of ICT resources and are incorporated into the topics being taught each half term.
