NI 100 Centenary Workshop

5th Oct 2021

P5-7 pupils really enjoyed a NI Centenary Workshop on Tuesday 5 October by The Education and Living History team from the Navan Centre. This special centennial education event explored the story of Northern Ireland through the past 100 years and indeed the people and events from 1606 that have influenced the story to the present day.

Our pupils were transported through the Plantation of Ulster, the Victorian period, the local linen and apple industries, the quest for Home Rule, World War 1, Partition, World War 2, the creation of the Welfare State to the concept of Craigavon through costumed, historical characters portraying each of the noted eras. It was both educational and entertaining and really brought the topic to life for everyone.

Many thanks to all the team for a very enjoyable afternoon 🙂.
