Final Assembly and Presentation of Awards 17 June 2025

1st Jul 2025
Tuesday 17 June was a special day in our school calendar this year as we bade goodbye to our P7s and presented our end of year awards. The afternoon began with all the children singing two choruses, He'll be there and Jesus at the centre, after which Mr. Campbell briefly spoke to everyone, reminding us that while we have different talents and abilities, the common ingredient to success and achievement is hard work and determination. Our P7s were then presented with a Record of Achievement folder, a Leavers' autograph book and an Achievement Award from Drumhillery PS.

Our school choir then sang 2 beautiful pieces from The Sound of Music, 'My favourite things' and 'Do Re Me.'

Our guest speaker was Mr. Graham Montgomery, principal of The Royal School, Armagh who based his fascinating talk around a £2 coin and specifically the logo on it, Standing on the shoulders of giants.' He reminded the P7s that their much of their success was down to the support of their teachers and parents over the past 7 years.

We then presented our awards as follows:

We then watched a very moving video tribute of the past year's achievements and activities and specifically the development of our P7s in their journey through school.

The afternoon finished with some light refreshments. The P7 parents and family members enjoyed strawberries and cream and tea/coffee, while the children had some ice lollies.
